A summary of the latest information on the activities of the CKS DRG.
COMPLETION OF THE 2024 UPDATE OF THE SK-DRG
- Methodology for calculating relative weights for 2024
At the Steering Committee, the relative weights for 2024 were approved and officially enter into force and the reimbursement system for selected DRG groups. Along with the relative weights, an extension of the methodology was approved to include new approaches to increase the HP set by adding HPs from the 2021 data year and modelling non-valid HPs from the 2022 data year.
- Coding rules for 2024
As part of the regular annual revision of the Coding Rules for 2024, the following occurred:
- A substantive change to the hearing loss rule S0801
- the addition of examples for coding births and sections in S15
- the deletion of rule S0909G
- moving Annex 6 to the notes in the Schedule of Medical Procedures and minor technical corrections to other rules.
- Base rates for 2024
In accordance with the statutory obligation, the CKS DRG published the base rates for 2024 as at 30 November based on information available during November 2023 on the resources available for inpatient healthcare. The published document also includes informative base rates calculated from the resources required for inpatient healthcare providers.
- Reimbursement by SK-DRG in 2024
In accordance with the Expert Guidance of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic on the implementation of reimbursement according to the SK-DRG classification system, the CKS DRG has published the amounts of budget reductions and the limits for the implementation of reimbursement according to the SK-DRG classification system for 2024.
- Data interface
The data interface for reporting inpatient healthcare DR274d has been updated in the working group. The interface has been updated with the necessary entries for the UN and planned LTC to be reported as of 1.1.2024 under Act 540/2021. Allowed values for type and reason for admission have also been added in DR274d. A separate guidance document on the combinations of type and reason for admission was prepared in the workgroup for these items, which more precisely specifies the reporting of these items in the data interface and PVPP.
III. DRG CONFERENCE EN-DRG 2024
On 8.12.2023 we organized theIII. DRG CONFERENCE SK-DRG 2024, where we informed you about the updates in SK-DRG for 2024 and at the same time the vision of the future of SK-DRG was presented to you. The conference was attended by 220 people out of the original 280 registered. Thank you all very much for your participation and stimulating discussion! We would also like to thank very much our colleagues from the Institute of Public Health for their contribution on the state of development and implementation of DRGs in the Czech Republic. EDUCATIONAL CODING SEMINAR
CKS DRG held an Educational Coding Seminar for Interventional Radiology and Gynecology, Obstetrics on 14.12.2023. The aim of the seminar was to familiarize users with the new revision of the list of medical procedures in the field of interventional radiology and to jointly explain the problem areas in the coding of gynecology and obstetrics - especially deliveries and sections. The workshop was attended by 198 participants, who we thank for their active participation, great discussion and we look forward to more meetings like this!
